Coronavirus outbreak: eCampus offers free migration of schools online in Ghana

Businesses have been closed or open for shorter hours due to the Coronavirus pandemic globally. These lockdowns are a way of mitigating the spread of the virus. Schools and other educational institutions have not been left out of this move. In Italy, Belgium, Netherland, and some states in America, citizens have been advised to avoid social gatherings including schools and church activities.

Bringing the outbreak and its subsequent events closer home, two cases of COVID-19 were first reported in Ghana on Friday,13th March 2020. These reported cases were from individuals who landed in Ghana from Norway and Turkey. In order to equally alleviate the spread of the virus in Ghana, the government has cautioned citizens to avoid crowded places such as churches and schools.
The government’s caution may hinder school activities. This, therefore, beckons the question: do schools need to restructure lessons, exams and school calendars because of the outbreak? A solution may be found in e-learning platforms and activities. eCampus provides a solution to this while helping students remain safe at home in the case of a government directive to shut down schools.

Schools that deem it fit to shut down their premises and encourage students to learn from home can do so with eCampus. Students can be signed up to learn and take prep test online while their teachers track them. Alternatively, eCampus can help schools migrate online in case of a total lockdown due to the spread of Coronavirus. By migrating online, schools will move their lessons, exams and exercises online for students to study even while at home. eCampus is offering this package at a zero cost to schools and also as part of its corporate social investment.
