UPDATE: 2023 Salary Negotiations continues as FWSC invites Labour Unions again

The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) has once again invited the Labour Unions for the 2023 salaries negotiations.

There have been several negotiations between the Government and Labour Unions but have failed to come into consensus over the base pay increment of public sector workers for the four (4) consecutive times.

Labour Unions are demanding 60% increase in the Base Pay on the Single Spine Salary Structure (SSSS) to compensate for the current economic hardships while’s government is also crawling at 18%.

The organized labor however rejected the offer immediately as they insist on a figure because of the inflation. The labour has however increased their demand to 65% after the finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta presented the 2023 budget to Parliament for approval. Even though government tabled an 18% increment after the Unions earlier rejected a 15% increment.
