The Kumasi based radio station has been banned from operating in Ashanti region by Bantemahene, Baffour Amankwatia VI (Acting President of the Kumasi Traditional Council), effective August 25, 2022.
According to reports the president (Bantemahene) ordered the Private Radio/TV Station to close down its activities in the region over some comments by Akwasi Addai popularly known as Odike.
This statement was sanctioned after the leadership of the Radio/TV station appeared before Traditional Council led Bantemahene, Nana Baffour Amankwatia to apologize over the nasty comments made by the Business man turned Politician accusing the Ashanti Chiefs for the involvement in illegal mining (GALAMSEY).
This, according to the traditional Council is an attempt to disgrace and undermine the image of the Ashanti region specifically "Manhyia".
Earlier this week, Odike in an interview with the Radio/TV station urged the youth to rise and demonstrate against the chiefs for failing to help end Galamsey. He has been banished from the Region over the same comments.
