Teachers to pass mandatory courses Before License renewal - NTC

The National Teaching Council (NTC) who is responsible for teacher Licensure have listed some mandatory Courses to be passed by teachers before license renewal.

The issuance of the license is in accordance of the Education Act 2008 (Act 778), section 9 which seeks to improve the professional standard and status of teachers.

Below are the mandatory courses teachers have to pass before they can renew their license:

  1. Classroom Based Assessment
  2. Instructional Method
  3. Subject Content and Methodology
  4. Information and Communication Technology
This forms part of the Teachers’ Continuous Professional Development (TCPD) process by which a teacher not only maintains, but also improves and expands his/her professional knowledge, values and skills.

Teachers can update their Teacher Continuous Professional Development (TCPD)
plan by adding to or removing from scheduled training courses and activities through SBI, CBI etc. programs.

Data from Teacher Continuous Professional Development (TCPD) plans helps
organizations to plan TCPD programs based on teachers priorities

Teacher are encouraged to register or update their record for a smooth process of Licensing.
